December between curiosities and current affairs. I told how the Kellogg brothers invented cornflakes in a Michigan sanatorium, and how those flakes ended up in our desserts. I followed the debate on naming plant-based products, starting from the case of a vegan cheesemaker in Bologna: why can't they be called cheese or burgers? For the holidays I suggested two vegan dishes designed to please the whole table, including a main course of tempeh and pumpkin braised with black grapes.
