Datterino tomato

Description

The datterino gets its name from its elongated shape, like a small date (dattero). It is one of the sweetest cherry tomatoes, with little water and firm flesh: that is why it is so loved raw, but it also gives great results when cooked.

Quartered and dressed with garlic, basil, mint and good olive oil, it is the heart of a summer pasta salad; sautéed for a few minutes, it becomes a sweet, bright sauce; and it is perfect for fermenting, which keeps its flavour until winter.

If you have a vegetable garden, it is one of the most generous plants: a couple of plants are enough for the whole summer.
